The HOSA HEART Member award is a way for the membership to recognize other students who go above and beyond in their dedication to HOSA. The HOSA HEART Member is awarded based on the following criteria:
Helpful Member: One of the core values of HOSA is to help others and the medical community. A helpful student should go out of their way to do things for others and advance the purpose of HOSA.
Excellent Member: A student who is excellent should always do their best in anything they do. If they succeed in this, they will excel past the standards expected from all HOSA members.
Active Member: An active member of HOSA will consistently commit their time and energy to the advancement of HOSA. They should always be ready to support their chapter and other members through their own hard work.
Respectful Member: Any member of HOSA should always represent their chapter in the best way possible. A member who is always willing to be kind and caring even in trying circumstance highlights the best of HOSA.
Team Member: A team member should always place value on the success of the team. Sometimes this means that they will sacrifice their time and energy to do the unpleasant, but they should never be underappreciated for it. Team members are integral in making HOSA the great organization it is.
If a HOSA member shows all of these qualities, they deserve recognition! Nominations for the HOSA HEART Member are open to all teachers and members who feel that their students or peers completely fulfill each of these requirements.
