Last Sunday on October 30th some officers and members of the Northwest CTA HOSA chapter had the privilege of volunteering at the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk, which was held at the Red Rock Casino. We were able to cheer on the walkers and runners that participated, as well as distribute water out to the participants.
The day started out with laughter and music, and everyone getting ready for the walk. The NWCTA HOSA officers had the privilege of signing our schools name on a pink fire truck and seeing the Nevada HOSA President there, supporting the breast Cancer Walk as well. When the event started we got to give high fives to participants and cheer them on as they walked. As well close to the end of the walk one little girl surprised all of our officers and came up to them and gave them all hugs to thank all of them for cheering everyone on.
All in all, we were able to see our community come together to help those who have been diagnosed with breast cancer, have overcome breast cancer, or have been affected by this common disease in some way. It was an amazing experience o see all of the volunteers come together and support all of the participants. We hope to participate in this event annually as a chapter and other events like this one, to support those who have been affected by cancer or a disease in some way. Thank you to all of our members that came out to support the fight against breast cancer and we hope to see more members next year.
